Kristine Vogt is based in the Central Valley of California. She is an abstract artist who primarily works with raw canvas and flashe paints. She pulls her inspiration from nature and trending colors of interior design. Her goal is to provide something beautiful for your heart and your home.
“I’ve learned to appreciate how much of abstract painting is play and process: it shows where our curiosity can take us. I love the way that paint moves freely on the canvas and how textures can change the whole feel of a piece. I love how exciting contrast can be, but it’s really the softness I get lost in. I love the infinite possibilities of a few simple materials, a few colors, of making one mark on the canvas that can elevate or deepen the dimensions, of transforming one thing into something entirely new and unique.”

Every time you look at one of my paintings, I hope you see curiosity and wonder. I hope your imagination leads you to find details that remind you of something you love. Know that when I create these pieces, I take inspiration directly from my own feelings and experiences: from the varied landscapes of my California home. Some are inspired by the view from a cabin surrounded by ancient redwoods, or from playing on the beach with my kids, or from the garden outside my studio’s window, or even the storm clouds that give me the best reason to stay inside and paint all day. I see all that and so much more, and I hope you do, too.
